Luisa “Lulo” Trujillo is from Bogota, Colombia and has been making Kentucky home for the past 20 years. She has a diverse role background of more than a decade in the nonprofit world in organizations dedicated to Latinx youth empowerment, social justice, art and literacy and she also has a master’s degree in urban planning from the University of Louisville. She has found her niche in advocating for a healing human/nature relationship and reminding humans that “they are nature too”. Luisa is the founder of “Caminantes”, a Latinx-led outdoor and adventure multicultural and multigenerational group that loves to get outside to admire and heal with nature. Luisa is passionate about youth and their families creating a bond with the soil and all what provides to us, and she is beyond grateful to be part of the Food Literacy Project. Outside of work she organizes “Caminantes” outdoor events, participates in various local Latinx initiatives, teaches yoga and likes to get her hands in any creative project.
