Chicken Dorho


A dish from Eritrea by Neima 

The reason why I choose this because it’s my favorite food and every people likes this food in my country and we also cook for the wedding dorho and it’s the most yummy food in my country.

  • 1 whole chicken
  • 4 eggs
  •  2 T. nitter kibbeh
  • 2 cups of berbere
  • 6 onions
  • 4 tomatoes
  • 2 cups of olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic 
  • 1 tablespoon mekelesha
  • water
  • salt, to taste


1. Add the berbere, Niter Kibbeh, garlic and ginger and cook for 30 minutes on medium-low heat.

Add the marinated chicken and cook on medium-low heat, 30 to 45 minutes. Add in the hard-boiled eggs and salt to taste.
