2007 Highlights
Programming:
- Served 1027 people who participated in group and family programs at the farm, and in the process, new relationships were formed with schools, community organizations and places of worship.
- Hosted two Family Farm Days. The general public was invited to the farm to experience planting, harvesting, preparing farm-fresh snacks from harvested crops and other activities.
- Mentored 25 teenagers throughout one growing season. Helped this group to plan, plant, cultivate, harvest and market their produce. In the process a deeper knowledge was explored concerning food system, healthy food choices, and customer relationships.
Organizational Development:
- Board members received strategic planning training during an intensive one day course. Over the next several months a 3 year strategic plan for the Food Literacy Project was developed that helped to sharpen focus on program and fund-raising goals.
